Before can index a business for national search and locally for the Area Search Engine, members need to be sure that their Chamber Nation, EcTownUSA or Donation Automation system has been optimized for search. Some may refer to this as a TCS website or the Mark LeBlanc edition. Once members complete their optimization the Area Search Engine will be formally released and promoted.
The steps to optimize your business for search are shown below:
Write down the words people would normally use in a search engine to find the type of business or service you offer.
Test your business search terms by going to the Chamber of Commerce, Association or Non-Profit you are a member of and clicking on the "Member Directory" link. You will find a search box where you can immediately test your optimization results as you make the updates. This is necessary as
will not IMMEDIATELY index your changes.
If the test fails in any way, please go back to the same website used in step two above. Once there, click the member login button to answer all the questions, edit your information, and add search terms people will likely use to find your business or organization.
